Just need to have a little rant about the incident on the television program this morning, involving Katie Hopkins opinions on children's names. Can I first say that I found her attitude and outlook on this matter simply appalling. I simply cannot understand how, in today's world, people can have a view that is so old fashioned and out of date! Okay, I'm not a mother, and so don't have the same perspective as she has, but I am still able to recognize sheer prejudice that is completely uncalled for! What shocked me even more was how her argument was completely undermined by the fact her daughter was named India. Of course I'm not criticizing the child's name (personally I think the names she has chosen for her children are very beautiful; I am particularly fond of the name Poppy!). What I am saying is that she is so against the use of geographical locations used for names and uses this to support her argument, when her child has the same name as a continent. The contradictions in her argument make her almost laughable! What I am really trying to say in this post is that when I watched this particular clip on YouTube I was in awe of the snooty attitude this woman has and think that it is ridiculous to have this sort of attitude; an attitude that should have been left in the past!
